Greg Scandlen Takes on the Bush Republicans

I immigrated to this country in 2005 to research and promote consumer-driven health care.  I had unrealistically high hopes for what the Republicans led by George W. Bush could achieve.

I haven't yet made the time to read President Bush's memoir, but my valued colleague Greg Scandlen has.  He's livid about how President Bush decided to sign the mental-health parity act sponsored by Senator Ted Kennedy in 2008.  At the time, I wrote a pretty scathing analysis of the bill, whose consequences are still coming to light.

Mr. Scandlen, and others (including me), discuss that legislation over at John Goodman's Health Policy Blog.
